Moving Beyond Best Practices
Experts often tell you that you should be copying the best practices of other successful organizations. Though that is generally good advice, we believe your firm has its own unique DNA that attracts advisors to you.
Your firm's genetics, or "opugenics" as we like to say, are the foundation of your firm's own blueprint for success. Best practices are great guidelines to draw upon but what you need is to move beyond somebody's else approach to achieve your own state of "GEN" or alignment of people, practices, and technology.
How do you do that? Like with your health, you need to start with a regular check-up to proactively uncover the signs of misalignment. OPUGEN can help. Our executive level best performance catalysts are experienced and regularly work with executives in your industry to diagnose and track their best performance health. Through a series of interviews, we work to understand your current state relating to people, practices, and technology and what areas of concern you are facing. We look at this from three dimensions: perspectives, priorities, and participatipn.
Best Performance Plan
We will then sit with the people in those areas of concern to observe and probe deeper into the current practices. All observations will be documented and reviewed with you for accuracy. A subset of our catalyst team will then independently review the documented current state and each will make observations related to their own particular subject matter expertise. When required, we will consult with other industry experts within and beyond our own extended community members to ensure our conclusions are thoroughly vetted. We then review our conclusions with your executive team. Conclusions include both findings and recommendations for a “Best Performance Plan” that can help you raise your “best” score through the eyes of your advisors.
You may then choose us to help you implement your “Best Performance Plan” or simply to provide ongoing advice and guidance. In any case, we do always recommend an annual check-up as a minimum so that we can remain aware and involved as a partner in evolving your business.
A full check-up generally takes 2-3 days on your site and a week or two to pull together and deliver a final report. Before that we start with a free initial consultation by telephone and all we would ask is for you to cover our travel expenses if you prefer to have that first meeting in person.
